Waste Management Advice

The following are the main points of benefit for using Anaerobic Digestion to dispose of organic material:

  • A reduction of 22 tonnes of CO2 for every 100 tonnes of food waste used in the Anaerobic Digestion plant
  • Renewable energy production that can be used to reduce carbon footprint
  • Enables food retailers to achieve their goal of zero landfill
  • If digestate is used as fertiliser on farms where produce comes from it is possible to create a continuous circle. Digestate will have a quality standard in Pass 110, making it a product not a waste
  • No need to segregate waste from store as plant will be able to remove any type of packaging and will be able to sterilise Cat 3 materials
  • We are able to offer a national solution
  • Good publicity to first movers
  • Possibility of producing road fuel liquid gas in the future rather than generating electricity
  • Preferred route of dealing with organic waste by the Government and green groups such as Friends of the Earth
