Recognition of Specialist Skills For Breeam Assessor, Bill Gibbon

Congratulations to Bill Gibbon who has passed the new BREEAM AP (Accredited Professional) exam. Bill, who is already qualified to assess BREEAM Office, Industrial, Retail, Multi-Residential and Bespoke schemes, passed the qualification examination at the end of November.

BRE introduced the new level of qualification for those involved in sustainability in construction. The BREEAM AP status recognises specialist skills in sustainability combined with a high level of competence in the BREEAM assessment process.

Unless sustainable design options are considered and built in at an early stage by experts, building low environmental impact buildings can be costly - particularly to the new or inexperienced Client. The new qualification has been created to provide professional and expert guidance from the first inception of the project in built environment sustainability, environmental design and environmental assessment.

For Clients, the employment of an AP on projects has the added benefit of providing up to two credits under BREEAM 2008, as their involvement from early design stages through the project is recognised as being beneficial to a BREEAM rating. Goodrich has welcomed the opportunities that the new qualification presents and is pleased to offer this additional service to Clients.
